Guide
Condition & sizing.
Every ThreadPLUG item is secondhand, so no two are exactly alike. Here’s how we grade condition and how to pick the right size.
Condition grades
Every garment is inspected by hand and sorted into one of four grades. The grade appears in every product listing.
Excellent — little to no signs of wear.
Great — some discreet signs of wear.
Good — visible signs of wear.
New / Unused — item has never been worn, tags possibly still attached.
Colour accuracy
We photograph every item under both studio and natural lighting to best represent the real colour. That said, colours can look slightly different from screen to screen. If a colour match is critical to you, message us before ordering and we’ll describe the item in detail.
Sizing
Secondhand sizes can vary due to age, style, and country of origin. The safest approach is to compare our measurements to something you already own.
We measure every item flat, in centimetres:
- Tops: pit-to-pit × neck-to-base
- Pants: waistband all the way around the waistline to base
Tip: If you love an item but think it runs bigger or longer than you’d wear, we recommend adjusting it — thrift pieces are great candidates for a small taper or hem.
Care instructions
Hand wash with bar soap or a soft detergent, especially for delicate fabrics like silk and wool. The same goes for cotton, polyester, linen, and rayon. If machine washing is unavoidable, use cold water on the lowest cycle with soft detergent.
Leather and suede should only be dry cleaned. Some items arrive pre-cleaned, but we always recommend washing or dry cleaning before you wear.
